Hello Community Gardeners,

Thanks so much for expressing interest in the Mary Baldwin College Community Garden. I’m excited to announce the 2009 Community Garden Planting Shindig on Tue. May 12 @ 5p.m. (rain date is Wed. May 13 @ 5 p.m.). We’ll be putting seeds and plants in the ground, listening to some groovy garden tunes, snacking a bit and appreciating the promise of the garden.

Bring the following

Seeds and plants*

Feel free to also bring the following…

Friends and family
Guitar, drum, flute, bagpipe or any other musical instrument that you play (or your favorite spring evening CD)
A small snack to share (the fine folks at the Adult Degree program will be providing juice and water)
A small contribution for the composter and rain barrel fund

The garden is located in front of the ADP house at the corner of Prospect and Tullidge.

What to tell Steve Grande prior to coming:

1. If you plan to attend the shindig (get it? Shin-dig…)

2. *What plants and seeds you are hoping to plant—so we can practice thoughtful companion gardening

3. If you want your own garden plot

4. Your summer vacation schedule so we’ll know when not to expect to see you around the garden
